With one match still remaining, Slaley Hall have amassed an unassailable lead and are the 2026 winners of the Two Tynes Handicap League.
John Cobb turned up to their last match at Northumberland and has presented the trophy to their leader, John Lee, and to the team.
Having played just six of their seven matches, the Slaley Hall team had fifty four points. The next best total - after 7 mqatches - is Stocksfield with 47 points. Even should Tyneside win 12-0 in their final match vs Hexham, they would only manage 51 points. So hands down, Slaley Hall have romped home to a solid win.
In a chat earlier in the season, John Lee was heard to say that they had their sight firmly set on winning the trophy, this year. To that end they have fielded a small, consistent squad of well experienced players and have achieved their aim.
